Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

CDKeyCheap does not set any cookies. Not essential ones, not analytics ones, not advertising ones. This page explains what we do store, and why you are not being asked to click through a consent banner.

Cookies we set

None. Our server issues no Set-Cookie headers, and no script on this site creates a cookie. You can verify this yourself in your browser developer tools under Application → Cookies.

What we store instead

We use a single entry in your browser local storage, which is not a cookie:

Key Purpose Lifetime
ckc-theme Remembers whether you chose the light or dark colour scheme. Until you clear site data

The distinction matters. A cookie is transmitted to the server with every single request; local storage stays on your device and is read only by the page itself. This value never reaches our server, is never shared with anyone, and cannot identify you.

Why there is no consent banner

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR, consent is required to store or access information on a user device unless that storage is strictly necessary to provide a service the user explicitly requested. A remembered theme preference — written only when you click the theme toggle, used only to render the page the way you asked for it — falls within that exemption. Since we run no analytics, no advertising and no cross-site tracking of any kind, there is nothing else to ask you about.

If we ever add something that does require consent, we will ask for it properly, before setting it, and update this page.

Third-party content

Game images load from Valve content delivery network hosts. Serving those images does not set cookies in your browser, though the CDN does necessarily see your IP address as part of the request. See our privacy policy for detail.

Removing what we store

Clearing site data for cdkeycheap.com in your browser settings removes the theme preference. The site simply reverts to its default dark theme on your next visit.
