Ultranova is a 2.5D sci-fi platformer game that follows the story of Nova, a high-tech cyborg who has crash-landed on the hostile planet of Neoterra. Equipped with a powerful blaster rifle and a suite of advanced technological abilities, Nova must explore the treacherous planet, fight off dangerous enemies, and uncover the secrets of Neoterra to find a way back home.

As players progress through the game, they will unlock new abilities and upgrade their existing ones to overcome increasingly difficult challenges. In addition to the storyline, destroying enemies drop scrap that you gather to your inventory. At the end of levels, you can trade in the scrap for augmentations to level up your abilities. You can also perform side-quests at the end of the levels where you go back to complete certain tasks with higher difficulty and altered enemies for additional rewards. This is not required to complete the game, but it will provide additional playable content and unlock achievements.
