Settlements Rising is a survival and city-building simulation game set in the Middle Ages with a focus on resource management. You must meet the increasing basic and luxury needs of your village through hunting, gathering, farming, and trading, while also fending off raids on your village with military tactics. In addition to the classic mechanics of survival and city-building, there are raid mechanics, an innovative research/technology tree, and enhancement mechanics that affect the new games you open based on the level you have achieved, similar to the roguelike genre.

Resource Management:

There are gathering, hunting, farming, and production chains available to meet the villagers' needs for warmth, hunger, health, and luxury. There are also methods such as storage buildings and smoking to extend the shelf life of the produced raw materials. Additionally, you can sell your excess resources to traders who come to your village and buy resources from them.

Technology Tree:

Separate technology trees are available for agriculture, hunting, warfare, and other fields in the game. By actively progressing in each area, you can earn experience points and use this experience points to unlock technologies related to that area.

Defense:

Raiders attack the village at certain intervals. You can build walls, towers, train villagers with weapons, and put them on these towers to protect your village. The attacks on the village depend on the level of the village and the amount of gold in the village's treasury. The raid mechanics can be turned on and off from the game's difficulty settings.

Economy and Trade:

In the game, there are gold expenses for villager tasks such as healer, teacher, archer, warrior, etc. Gold can be obtained by selling products in markets and selling resources to traders. The resources brought by the traders visiting your village may be cheap, normal, or expensive. You may also buy a product at a cheap, normal, or expensive price. Using this random mechanic, you can sell your resources at a high price and buy resources at a low price, thereby increasing the amount of gold in the village's treasury. The surplus gold in the treasury will increase the difficulty of the raids.

Enhancements:

As you survive for a long time in the game, you will level up. With these levels, you can buy permanent enhancements to use in your next games. This mechanic, familiar from roguelike games, can diversify your strategy in your games.
