MORTARMEN is a strategic multiplayer PvP first and third person shooter, pitting the
New American Coalition versus
United Communist Front in a battle for control of Arakousa, a Mediterranean island paradise. We expect to release in Q3 of 2023.
Soldiers are trained to traverse via sliding, dodge rolling, and climbing, although highly skilled they are prone to being stunned by environmental hazards if they aren't too careful. To aid them in battle, each soldier is equipped with a tactical tablet where they choose their modern weapon loadout, inspect the overhead map, and choose their HALO drop point. In other unorthodox means of combat, soldiers can feign death in a gamble to outplay their enemies.
All soldiers are able to equip themselves with a portable mortar from their tablet, although skill levels vary, they're easy to use and
hard to master. Mortars can be placed anywhere suitable and packed back up for quick transactions. To better aid in target acquisition, cameras are attached to mortar shells until destroyed by impact. Their major role plays into denying sector control and keeping enemies at bay once they're honed in, communication is key to avoid any unforeseen consequences.
Factions battle it out on Arakousa, a 4km² island, all fighting for control of villages, outposts, and other points of interest in order to gain initiative to bleed the other team dry of reinforcements. Although any sector can be captured at any time, they must be linked to their factions' main base to gain any sector points; this gives opportunities for soldiers to break links of vital sectors to prevent the enemy team from maintaining initiative in the tug of war.
While the core game is fully playable, we have many features planned before and after release, some examples include: buildable slide gates, exaggerated bullet penetration, attachments system, progression system, and much more. Head over to announcements to view our roadmap to see what we have in store!
